Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Simul Studio ("the App"), made by Roadman Studio ("we", "us"), handles your information on iPhone and Android. The short version: your photos stay on your device, and the App only sends anonymous usage data if you choose to allow it.

Photos and Camera

Simul Studio processes all photos entirely on your device. When you grant camera or photo library access:

• Photos you shoot or import are stored locally on your device, inside the App and in your photo library when you choose to export.
• No photos, thumbnails, edits, or image metadata are ever uploaded to us or to any analytics provider.
• We have no servers that receive your images, and there is no Simul account.

Backups You Control

• iPhone: if you turn on iCloud Sync in the App's Settings, your gallery and edits are backed up to your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We cannot access this data. Apple's handling of it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Android: Android's cloud backup to your Google account includes only the App's settings, not your photos or edits. When you move to a new phone with Android's device-to-device transfer, your App gallery can move with it. Google's handling of backups is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Optional App Analytics

The App asks whether you want to help improve Simul. Only if you say yes, it sends a small set of anonymous usage events to PostHog in its EU (Frankfurt) region. Examples are your first photo, first edit and first export, when the unlock screen is shown, purchase started or completed, and answers to short in-app feedback prompts. On iPhone they also include whether the App was used, or something exported, on a given day. These events include the platform and App version.

App analytics do not include your photos, edits, filenames, EXIF/GPS data, your name, email, Apple ID or Google account. We do not create user profiles, and we do not use session replay, screen recording, advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking. You can change your choice at any time in the App's Settings. If you decline, no analytics are sent.

In-App Feedback Survey (iPhone)

On iPhone, the App may invite you to answer a short, optional product survey. If you submit it, your answers are sent to PostHog in the EU (Frankfurt) region. This includes any short text you choose to type, the App version and platform, and broad purchase and usage groups (for example, whether you have unlocked the App). A random response ID is used instead of any personal identifier. Please don't include personal information in free-text answers.

Studio Notes

If you sign up for Studio Notes on this website, the submitted email address and subscription/form metadata are sent to Kit for newsletter delivery and consent management. This website signup is separate from the App, and the App itself does not collect this information.

Anonymous Website Analytics

We use PostHog in its EU (Frankfurt) region to understand a small set of anonymous website interactions: page views, App Store and Google Play button taps, sticky-offer and early-feedback visibility, and 50% or 75% scroll depth.

Website analytics run in cookieless mode, which does not store an analytics identifier in your browser. We do not enable session replay, autocapture, advertising identifiers, cross-site tracking, feature flags, surveys, error tracking, or user profiles. We do not send names, email addresses, photos, edits, filenames, EXIF/GPS data, Apple IDs, Google accounts, or Studio Notes form contents to PostHog.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is processed entirely by the store you buy from. We never see your payment details.

• iPhone: purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple gives us the transaction information needed to deliver the purchase, such as confirmation that the unlock was bought or restored. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Android: purchases are processed by Google through Google Play Billing. Google gives us the transaction information needed to deliver and restore the purchase. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following locally on your device: your photo gallery and edits, your settings (including your analytics choice), your remaining free-photo count, and your purchase status. Deleting the App deletes this data, apart from any iCloud Sync backup you turned on. Your exported photos remain in your photo library.

Children's Privacy

Simul Studio is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. App analytics are anonymous and only sent with permission.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be noted in the App's release notes.
