Simul Updates
Roll 01 · Release notes
What changed.And why.
The small decisions behind Simul: a camera and darkroom for iPhone and Android that gives the photograph enough room to become itself.
iOS 1.7 · September 2026
A camera that frames with you.
A redesigned camera with zoom, aspect ratios (4:3, 1:1, 16:9 and 3:2) and framing guides. RGB Curves drawn right over the photo, with a quick point reset. Move between photos in the Darkroom and return to the same place in your gallery. More frame options for Polaroid-style Share Cards, and your notes are kept. Smoother before/after comparison and gestures.
Android 1.6 · September 2026
Load a roll, then shoot.
A refreshed film-loading flow: choose 24 or 36 exposures, then pick a film stock. Tap to focus and drag to adjust exposure. Step to the previous or next photo in the Darkroom, and the gallery keeps your place.
Android 1.4 · 31 August 2026
Simul arrives on Android.
Simul Studio launched on Google Play with film-inspired looks in the camera and a guide to each film. The darkroom editor, a first-run walkthrough, and live-camera and editing refinements.
iOS 1.6 · August 2026
Export the whole roll.
Batch export: select several photos and export them together, with progress and a cancel option. Glow, a new diffusion adjustment for soft highlights. Pinch to zoom, double-tap and pan in the Darkroom.
iOS 1.5 · August 2026
Print it, share it.
Share Cards: a Polaroid-style card with an optional handwritten note, ready to share or save. Print Lab finishes: Riso Poster, Newsprint, Xerox, Screen Print, Cream Paper and Ink Bleed. Infrared-inspired looks: IR Mono, IR False Colour, IR Rose and IR Classic in three strengths.
iOS 1.4 · 8 August 2026
A gallery that keeps up.
Finish a roll now, or choose Later and develop it when you're ready. Group the gallery by date taken, by roll or by film, with frame counts on each roll. Open your current roll from a Lock Screen widget. Edits, including textures, save reliably when you leave the editor.

1.1 · More control, less waiting
A calmer way to work.
Simul 1.1 made the first idea feel more usable: clearer edit sections, a more responsive preview path, lens-aware capture, and a safer boundary around cloud sync.

1.2 · A more physical edit
Give the image a surface.
Simul 1.2 brought texture, physical frame gates, a crop-coordinate correction, a clearer darkroom rhythm, and more direct language around settings and support.
